Takeoff! The trip begins with a really long flight. Sorry about that.

Welcome to Israel, a complicated and fascinating land. We will land in Tel Aviv and head for Jerusalem, where we will drive up to the Mount of Olives and orient ourselves to this famous city before heading to the hotel and crashing.

We will spend this day exploring elements of the Jewish story and culture of this land. We will visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, take in the bustling Mahane Yehudah market, and share a Sabbath meal with a local Jewish family.

After our first meeting with changemakers in the morning, we will head to the Dead Sea for lunch and sun-soaking on the water. Then we’ll meet with two extraordinary men in Jericho, Rami Elhanan and Bassam Aramin. Their daughters were murdered in the conflict, and they use this loss as fuel to build a better future.

An incredible Sunday. We start in the Garden of Gethsemane, then to the Temple Mount. We’ll walk the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulchre, the church built over the traditional site of Golgotha. You’ll have a whole afternoon to wander the Old City before meeting the incredible activists of Combatants for Peace.

We will leave Jerusalem and drive only a few miles to reach Bethlehem. We’ll enjoy powerful visits with the Palestinian Conflict Transformation Center and the leaders of the remarkable A Land for All Movement.

This day is packed with goodness: Church of the Nativity, the Al Basma Center for the Developmentally Disabled, run by Christian and Muslim women, a walking tour of the Separation Wall, and an evening program in the Aida Refugee Camp.

Starts on a heavy note and ends on a joyful one. We will tour the embattled city of Hebron in the south of the West Bank, alongside former Israeli soldiers who are breaking the silence about what they were required to do during their service. We’ll see the burial place of Abraham and the patriarchs, visit Hebron’s famous keffiyeh factory, and then end the day on the beautiful hillside farm called Tent of Nations.

This will be a very special day. Entirely planned by the Palestinian nonviolence leader Ali Abu Awwad and his Taghyeer National Nonviolence Movement. We will learn from the women leaders of a small West Bank town, hear the stories of Palestinians resisting Israeli settler colonization, and visit the Karama Center for Palestinian nonviolence. And the food this day will be stellar.

A travel day with lots of great stuff along the way. We will see the ancient city of Nablus, tour the first Palestinian brewery and winery, hear from a changemaker in Ramallah, drive through Nazareth, and end up at the Sea of Galilee.

A light day after a packed itinerary through the West Bank. Enjoy an entire morning of leisure at our hotel on the Sea of Galilee. In the afternoon, we will take a boat across the sea, remembering the ministry of Jesus. The evening will be free with optional activities like hiking Mount Arbel, taxing around the sea, or walking the seashore in Tiberias.

Our final day will begin with Sunday reflection on the Mount of Beatitudes. We will visit Peter’s home at Capernaum before making our drive across Israel to the First Century port city of Caesarea, where we will watch the Mediterranean sunset from an ancient Roman aqueduct. Dinner of seafood in Old Jaffa before heading to the airport from the long flight home.

Home again, home again. An incredible trip comes to an end, but the resulting transformation is just beginning.
