Dialogue with local peacebuilders.

Meet the Israelis and Palestinians working determinedly to lead their societies out of the cycle of violence and toward a vision of peaceful coexistence. We will sit with former combatants and bereaved parents and hear their stories of resilience and hope.

See the sites of your faith’s sacred stories.

From the birthplace of Christ to the towns of his ministry to the final days of his life, we will walk through the land where Jesus lived. We will pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, sail on the Sea of Galilee (pictured left), and walk the Via Dolorosa.

The stories you’ve read about you’ll now see in a whole new light.

Experience the foods and cultures of an ancient land.

Whether taste-testing in Jewish markets in Jerusalem, breaking bread for a Sabbath meal, or sharing a table with women in a Palestinian refugee camp, the food will be exceptional. In storied cities like Bethlehem, Hebron, Nablus, and Jerusalem, you’ll be able to haggle with shopkeepers for a piece of beautiful art, ancient pottery, or handmade jewelry.

And have fun!

You’ll get to float on the Dead Sea. Dance traditional Palestinian dances. Watch the sunset over the Mediterrean Sea. And enjoy free time to wander old cities at your leisure.

Once-in-a-lifetime trips shouldn’t only be educational, after all.

Here’s the plan.

(this could change, though)

Some of the organizations we will meet…

  • Al Basma Center for the Developmentally Disabled

Small nonprofit near Bethlehem where Muslim and Christian women support young people with disabilities. One of my favorite places in the world.

  • Taghyeer Change Palestine

A Palestinian-led nonviolence movement where Palestinians are organizing Palestinians for their own liberation.

  • The Parents Circle

A group of bereaved Israelis and Palestinians dedicated to ending the conflict to save others from the grief of burying their loved ones.

  • Combatants for Peace

Former Palestinian political prisoners and former Israeli soldiers working together for a nonviolent end to Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

  • Tent of Nations

A beautiful educational family farm outside Bethlehem, and the site of a long-standing nonviolent struggle to resist the theft of their land.

  • Wi’am Center for Palestinian Conflict Transformation

A Bethlehem-based site for mediation, storytelling, children’s programs, and tending to trauma.

“My granddad, John McRay, was an archaeologist and a New Testament professor. He took his first trip to Israel in 1967, thinking it was his only shot...he ended up returning more than 20 times. My family has been leading groups to the Holy Land since 1973. First with my granddad, then my uncle and dad, and now me. It is my great joy to be able to show you this land I love so much.”
